Author(s): Adam Rish; John McDonald (Introduction by)

Art & Photography

Adam Rish was born in London in 1953 and grew up in Tasmania. An interest in art from an early age was coupled with an interest in medicine, Rish qualifying as a doctor in 1978. Since then he has worked as both an artist and a doctor in Sydney. This book is a comprehensive overview of Rish's art with contributions from numerous reviewers and critics who have followed his career over the decades. The book contains more than 300 images of Rish's work, as well as background drawings and photographs documenting his collaborative art practice around the world. It is also a valuable document of many of the characters and institutions that have formed the Australian cultural landscape since the mid-1970s.
